The Yellow Kite

He flies his kite day after day as a remembrance to his late father, a fighter pilot whose life was consumed by the war. But on this very windy day, he runs for the hills, skipping shrubs and rocks while he yanks the kite, trailing him from the sky. A tug of war is brewing between him and the wind as they pull the kite away from each other. He runs with his eyes fixed on the kite and he sprints further uphill until he reaches the peak, a steep cliff overlooking the sea. Here, where the wind is fierce and tempestuous, he seems to be losing his kite as it gravitates towards the clouds, flying ferociously in the sky as though it were struggling to release itself from a choking leash. The thought of losing his kite takes him back to the day he lost his father, and so, he wraps the string tightly around his hand and runs for the cliff. Free of hesitation, he jumps off the cliff and the kite whisks him away, flying over the sea and disappears into the clouds.

End.
